Broken Dreams
let me
love you,
the way you need
the way I want to,
curiously
expectantly, with tender sighs...
these wounded hearts
how they rationalize,
pain.
betrayal cries, remembering
where careful becomes a measuring stall
and wait we do, on the other side,
languishing ...
as the days do slide
as time does tease
while we fill our ways with other's dreams
oh, take my hand
our moment awaits
so very patiently,
if we, but let it bloom
we'll step into our destiny
this thrill of me and you,
feel me now
I'm here,
and there you are, so far away
this needn't be
our legacy,
of sad songs wrung from broken dreams ...

I like this, although sometimes the punctuation is unclear.
Reminds me of Robert Creeley; the last line is powerful and ties the
poem together and clearly states the theme.
Thanks jyu

Straight forward but with a message, to escape the memories and be
comforted-"these wounded hearts
how they rationalize,
pain."
Loved the break before "pain" -gives it this mysterious
gripping emotion but at the same time a dynamo of energy
"rationalizing" gentle comfortable effection.-most
beautiful;>
thanks, hein

Hi Alisa
this piece speaks to me as an invitation to be loved,to share in the
bliss that was once felt.To take that leap of faith that comes with
allowing yourself to be loved and love in return.i found it very
uplifting and lighthearted. The reader feels nostalgic and can not help
but to reflect on his/her own experiences on the subject.
Well done to the poet with coconut breath, under the swaying palms.
have a wonderful day.
regards
hellfire :-)

Thank you, hellfire for your comments. I did write this one while
reflecting... as always, your insight is 'spot-on' and your
perception is most impressive.
