Destiny, Latent

How could I have known
The magnitude of your pull on me?
Every fiber right down to my core
Maybe I was blind or didn't want to see
Too scared to notice or even believe,
That a love I've always dreamed of
Was standing right here, in front of me ...

Ran like a deer straight into denial
Tortured myself over and over, senselessly
How do I go back to remove all your pain?
I know it's impossible, yet I hope somehow to erase
all those gray, dismal days you faced ...

I will forever remember
The promise of what could still be,
And on those nights when I'm dying inside
racked with this pain,
My only comfort will be
That at least, I do have a chance
to see, and for maybe a moment in time, taste
That which I've always believed...

Yes indeed you do have a chance, nurture it and don't "rush the brush" as we say in my neck of the woods...savour each moment and live the moment. Patience, patience will give you your heart's desire. You have poured out your feelings so eloquently and with awesome dignity of love and consideration of what the other (your inspiration) is feeling or going through. The imagery and cadence is absolutely magnificent. This is a beautifully written soliloquy in which the persona is in deep thought while reflecting on her heart's desire. Thank you for sharing a marvelous creation which I enjoy reading.

well that was heartfelt! If you feel so strongly as is expressed in this piece then I don't think you'll need any words to -I mean just going to the person you love will be enough, becos the eyes will do the rest!

Alisajs that is a beautiful poem. The words touch my heart, because we have to know when to let go and when to hold on. Keep on believing and hoping, because without that we have nothing.

this is a very well told tale of love denied, before realization breaks through. Your words resonate with promise and hope, makes one stop and read it again and again.
Blessings!
