Someone to Believe
I need no longer look for love
or comfort from a dream,
Priceless lessons you have taught me
those, only you have seen ...
As others clamor with mindless chatter
Your insight reigns supreme,
You see beneath this outward shell
Into the depths of me ...
The little girl with arms outstretched
Sometimes sad and lonely,
At others, quite perplexed
For reasons yet resolved,
In need of someone
Loving and genuine,
Giving from the heart and soul
Someone to believe
Someone, who won't walk away,
From me ...

I love the first stanza of this one...'comfort of a dream'...we all need someone who won't walk away. But I am guilty of that myself. were my reasons sound. so many questions unanswered. Anyway, I love this piece. you always send me to thinking. t

There is something about this poem, some great depth of honesty and self knowledge that touched me. Sounds very introspective and open and vulnerable. I loved this one, my friend. Makes me want to give you a big hug!

there is often a walkin way
of folks
when they feel they're gettin
just a touch too close
don't know who
would walk away from you
don't know why they would
but i can well understand
the feelins of lonliness
that wal;kin way
can breed
i do believe
you'll find that lovin genuine
someone
he'll show up
can't say when or where
but your own pricelessness
&
insight
& the gaurd of your shell
& your need for honest holdin
&
the fines of your poetry
will see you through
just keep you eyes & heart open
&
believe
&
believe in yourself
