Missed Destiny
Won't you let me do more than remember
Those awesome times seared in our souls,
You and me alone
With our bodies on fire, consumed
Needing more than we had a right to,
No other could ever come close, we both know
The passion and desire we fueled in each other
I need you to know I still go crazy
Everytime I think of your touch,
Alone here with these memories
What do I do?
They won't disappear, they don't simply turn off
and night after night they come, demanding
Release, but there's no you,
There's just me,
Fighting back those taunts of ecstasy's promise,
How they do challenge my sanity ...
Awash on these flames of forbidden desire
I want you only, with me
I want to travel together to those heights we both reached
and stay there for days like we used to,
I'm no good for another as they could never be you
Condemned now by missed destiny ...

This romantic soliloquy is written beautifully. The persona speaks in eloquently flowing words with deep sensuous emotions and sincerity which keep the interest of the reader high throughout. This poem has universal appeal in that in can apply be applied to any situation where love given unconditionally is now loss as a result of death. What I’m trying to say is that the poet is able to take any situation be that from the animal world or the humankind and weave with words a beautiful tapestry of love in somber yet sensuous tones thus providing the most delightful read from a romantic poem. Truly this poem provided and enjoyable read. The creativity of this poet is amazing. Thank you for sharing your artistry.

you're right, this is so much like my poem for sure, and the title fits with the poem in so many ways, lots of sadness and loss in this, with a one way heart thinking there is no end to the destiny, there is so much to experience in life, it's all in the making until we pass into the next dream, awesome done my poet friend!!
Dreams...sometimes they just can't come true. This was a revealing poem about the poets heart and mind. If you need someone so much and can't have them...do you really go insane? And if you do...what a crazy world this is. I would have thought it was meant for so much more.
Take care darlin'.

Wow!! I really enjoyed reading this visually titilating piece. the ebb and flow of desire flowing from your words. a sense of mixed emotions woven into this masterfully crafted piece. Beautiful write and most pleasureable read. Love David
The theme of this poem in itself proves that nothing is destined! In fact, 'missed destiny' is an oxymoron my fine and fair poetess. On the other hand perhaps you are fated to be with one who returns your love and the one you pien for is mere moron, tehe. Best wishes in life, love and poetry Alisa. THis is open and honest and vulnerable...there is not a fake bone in your body is there? You don't play games...I can respect that...this poem is like a cry for help (What do I do?!) I love the picture ...Ashley was a beautiful cat...keep hanging in there, friend!

Where have you been all my life? Would love if someone out there wrote something like this about me. Lucky man! As far as destiny is concerned time will tell whether it is in fact a missed one; after all, who knows? There may be a reunion some day... As a work this poem has exceptional skill, is pleasing to read and makes itself relevant because of its universality.
