Passion's Crescendo

Was it a moment of recognition or simply a glance?
Caught in time and frozen there, suspended
Unlike a crystalline tear in the artic winds
Where no eyes could see,
The promise within the reflection
Captured inside that prism of light
Somehow awaiting release ...
We are all strangers when passing by
Each of us bound to our own destinies,
Alone, as we make our way or open
To wondrous possibilities
If we but allow our trembling hearts to believe,
The love that surrounds us, continously
The joy that awaits, so graciously ...

In the hustle and bustle of our busy worlds
Away from confusion and constant strains,
Removed from those memories, common
Of heartache, bitterness and gut-wrenching pain ...

There is still a place we can run to
Close the world behind, as we enter in
The music is low and seductively sweet,
Take my hand and we'll start real slow
Oh! To gaze into eyes of desire again,
As we linger around sunset with our choice of Merlot,
To find ourselves lost in this moment
Yet not lost completely, just suspended in time
Our words like caresses, tender,
We could stay here forever, staring at these night skies
Counting stars one by one as they rise,
Enjoying the heat now between us
Smiling, a bit shy as we make our way closer
Towards that flame, now enticing
and yearning for release,
Let us savor each drop of this fine wine
Taste on our lips, so inviting
As we move through each motion of passion's crescendo
Till daybreak finds us spent and complete,
No words need be spoken
No words can describe,
This knowing, now ours for all time ...

This poem reads with style, flair and the poetic diction is superb. Soft flowing along a lyrical cadence. The imagery pulls you in, in the most sensuous way on a journey so enticingly beautiful. The persona is hinting that this journey needs not be a dream for true love gives this dream or fantasty reality. For it gives us

"a place we can run to
Close the world behind, as we enter in
The music is low and seductively sweet,...

The persona is there hinting that love is the key that opens the door to "passions' crescendo. "So take my hand (the hand of love)and we'll start real slow...This knowing, now ours for all time..."

Beautifully written is this poem and I found the reading of it most enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

'There is still this place we can run to'

i gotta tell you
that it ain't no surprise
that this place you describe
is a place people would run to

not a minute wasted
in a stroll at sunset

hot firey run to uncork
that bottle

sexy in the writin
sexy in the mood

there is a neediness
that needs fulfillin
that you seem t describe
with an accouracy of
honesty
& a full bodied
drunkiness
of yearnin

just want t know
if it were me could i replace the merlot
with a bourbon

You have melted the polar ice cap with this poem here, you started with that surreal image of a woman with the frozen silver tear in the white tundra, to the vast green places where spring is forever eternal with plentiful wine for two lovers, with a raw ending of forevermore serendipity, no need to talk... awesome done!!

Sunsets and Merlot...my favorite place to go : )You're flowing into a wonderful muse Alisa, I hope it's contagious..lol. I love the "crystalline tear" line..but my favorite line is the "We are all strangers.."..just the loner of me I guess. It's beautiful as always. Thanks!

This one speaks to me of romantic love seen as an escape from mundane living, an escape from the stress and "hustle bustle" of life. Your description of the night skies, the wine, the tender words sounds so inviting. (I am lonely tonite, hubby is on a fishing trip!:( ) You really should publish a book of romantic poetry...you are so good at these and most of your poems tackle this subject expertly!
